Okay, sure they listed all of the MoMA Doc Fortnight movies in the Film section of Time Out New York this week (February 19-25 issue). Nevertheless, I still got pretty giddy when I saw Sync or Swim there on page 78. And dispite the fact that, perhaps by some contractual obligation, they yielded their synchro snark…giddy I remain.

[UPDATE: The night after I saw the page above I had an awful TONY listing-inspired dream: After I turned in the Sync or Swim master tape into MoMA for the screening, someone inserted two scenes of completely random (and thoroughly extraneous) pop culture references into the film. From Bart Simpson to Superman...it was all in there. I woke up extremely upset but, unless the MoMA staff has been up to some tomfoolery (which really doesn't seem like MoMA's style), the "Director's Cut" remains intact.]

Nice write-up on the NY Press blog about our upcoming MoMA screening.
Sync or Swim has been nominated for a Billie Award for Journalism (Broadcast/Cable/Film) by the Women’s Sports Foundation! This award (named in honor of the great Billie Jean King) honors excellence in media coverage and depictions of women and girls in sport. Finalists are named next week and the winners will be announced at a fancy awards ceremony at the Beverly Hills Hilton on April 1st (which includes a performance by Sir Elton John)! Keep your fingers crossed for us to win a Billie (and to meet the Billie)!

I was recently interviewed by journalist Jon Kalish for the NPR sports show “Only a Game.” The story aired over the weekend in the Boston area and can now be heard at at onlyagame.org.
Also, you can listen to a shorter version of the NPR story on the 88.3 FM (NY-area) WBGO Journal (stream it or dowload the podcast version).

Check out page 41 of today’s NY Post for some kind words about our movie and a nice plug for the Pool Party! Oh, and we’re in good company…Madonna is on the same page and Michael Phelps graces the cover. Here’s a link to the visually interesting online version.
